DANI
NELSON

BIOGRAPHY
Dani grew up playing sports, with volleyball, basketball, and tennis shaping her competitive foundation from an early age. She first discovered pickleball while attending school in Vermont and was immediately drawn to the energy and athleticism of the game, though mastering the scoring system took some time. After returning home and playing again at Bob Kildee Park in Camarillo, she quickly developed a passion for the sport and hasn’t looked back since.
Driven by a desire to challenge herself and push through anxiety, Dani began competing in as many tournaments as possible, using competition as a way to build confidence and grow both mentally and athletically. She now enjoys competing at a higher level and is constantly striving to improve her game. What she loves most about pickleball is the sense of community it creates, bringing together people from all walks of life and fostering meaningful connections both on and off the court.
Joining the Gold'n State Rangers represents an exciting opportunity to continue growing as both an athlete and an individual. Outside of pickleball, Dani enjoys hiking, crafting, gardening, and spending time playing board games with her boyfriend, Kai. She is also a strong advocate for mental health awareness and believes pickleball has played an important role in helping her navigate her own personal challenges. Dani is also part of the team at Santa Barbara Pickleball Shop, located in Newbury Park, where she helps players with all of their pickleball needs.
